Through powerful imagery and storytelling, this digital exhibition amplifies voices left out of the climate conversation, inspiring dialogue, awareness and action for a more sustainable future.

Meet Our Photographers

FORQAN SALAM

SABA KAREEM

Saba Kareem is an Iraqi documentary photographer based in Baghdad/Iraq. Working as a photojournalist and visual storyteller, she began working with Reuters in 2019 and she is considered the first Iraqi female photojournalist to start working for an international agency after 2003.

Kareem works with various international organizations and magazines such as Care Deutschland (Germany), UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and Global Bar Magazine (Sweden). Her work has been exhibited in various international exhibitions such as Germany, France, Sweden and local exhibitions inside Iraq.

A few memorable career milestones so far:

Winner of The Joint Venture (Framing school for photo journalism & Swedish Global Reporting - Sponsored by Swedish Institute).

She has worked as a script supervisor in many long and short fiction films,and also as a cinematographer in three short documentaries in (Women Make Films Program) - Sponsored by The German organization Elbarlment organizes. She is interested in covering women's topics, social issues, daily life, and climate change issues in Iraq.

KALI MAMAND

Forqan Salam is an Iraqi photographer based in Dhi Qar Governorate, southern Iraq. She begins her photography journey in 2019, with a focus on street life and documenting daily experiences in southern Iraq.

Since 2024, she has worked with Reuters and different collaborators from various international organisations.

Her work primarily focuses on women’s and children’s rights, as well as climate change issues.
